Elopement

Yosemite National Park

We started our drive to Taft Point at 3:45am as the full moon was setting in our rearview. Rachael did her hair and makeup in the car as Sean navigated Yosemite’s dark and winding roads. Using headlamps and the early morning light, we put on Rachael’s wedding dress, secured her veil and started the hike to Taft Point.

With birds chirping as our witnesses, Rachael & Sean said their vows overlooking the Yosemite Valley with Upper Yosemite Falls in the distance. Without seeing another hiker until we were leaving, Rachael & Sean’s vows echoed off of the mountains. Sunrise sessions always pay off when you’re able to have such an intimate moment alone in the middle of an extremely public place.

After their vows, we hiked back to the car and drove to Glacier Point to soak in the remainder of the early morning light. We stood on the edge of what felt like the world and overlooking Half Dome and counted every waterfall we could see for miles.

Don’t be afraid to break from the norm and do whatever you want on your wedding / elopement. This was one of my favorite days in 2021 so I can’t image how Rachael & Sean felt! Congrats again, Rachael & Sean! To a lifetime of adventures and Yosemite sunrises.
