Washington, D.C.

I flew to Maryland for Alexa & Cole’s engagement session at the Washington Monument. We were up before the rest of Washington, D.C. taking in the early morning light off of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Walking from the Washington Monument to the Lincoln Memorial, there were plenty of nooks and crannies we had to ourselves.

As the morning light slowly crept into the park, we found ourselves dangling our legs over the side of the Lincoln Memorial as we watching Washington slowly wake-up.

If you’re not a morning person and the thought of a sunrise session scares you - I feel you - but there’s no other time in the day you can feel peace surround you quite like the early morning. It’s brutal to get up at 4am to do your hair and makeup but nothing beats watching the world wake up around you with your person at your side.
