Blacks Beach, San Diego

I met Ali & Jason through my old roommate (miss you, Taylor!) and it felt like fate! Our boyfriends went to the same high school, we both have golden puppies and their trip home to Hawaii for their engagement shoot was canceled due to COVID. It was the perfect storm!

After a morning of puppy emergencies, we met at the Glider Port to kick off their engagement shoot. It wasn’t Hawaii but it was a close second! On the cliffs overlooking the beach, we watched as a giant swell brought in 10 ft. waves then made our way down the winding staircase to Blacks Beach for a closeup of the surf.

Blacks Beach is a mini hike away and San Diego’s nude beach which is enough to deter most people from coming and it’s often empty! Plus, you don’t have to worry about covering up when changing outfits ;)

Being with Ali & Jason felt like being with life-long friends. We weren’t focused on posing, we were simply hanging out and having fun. Those are my favorite kind of shoots.
